Public lecture „Vydūnas ir Jurgis Šlapelis“
The fact that the 2018 edition of Vydūnas was published prompted the administration of the museum to re-enter the museum's important topic - Jurgis Šlapelis's personal and work relations with Vydūnas. Although the 20th century At the beginning, Vydūnas was a great moral authority and most productive writer, and the widespread distribution of his works in Lithuania was greatly aggravated by the fact that they were written in a special small-language language, the printing of a distinctive Vydūnas spelling, and the teaching of theosophical and Protestant thoughts to Catholics was much more difficult to understand. However, in 1908 In the catalog published by M. Šlapelienė Lithuanian bookstore we find 5 Vydūnas books, and in 1910 - even 14th. This bookstore was one of the main distributors of Vydūnas books, and its works were ordered by shoppers from all over Lithuania and abroad (Russia, USA and European countries) through the bookstore.
Vydūnas was personally acquainted with Maria and Jurgis Šlapeliai and attended a bookstore or their owners at their home in Vilnius. He collaborated with Uleap Publishing and was a buyer for their bookstore - ordering books, calendars, notes. As authoritative editor of the Lithuanian language, Jurgis Šlapelis made a speech of not only Vydūnas work. This is evidenced by the surviving letters of Vydūnas to the Ucapers.
