EuroBasket 2011

We are very happy to host the 37th European Men’s Basketball Championship on 3–18 September 2011. This is a huge achievement and recognition for us, the country of basketball. By the way, this will be the second time when Lithuania will host the European Basketball Championship: the first time was in 1939.

The EuroBasket 2011 will be the largest European Basketball Championship ever: this will be the first time when 24 teams, compared to 16 before, will be competing.

Group matches will be played in four towns of Lithuania: Alytus, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, and Panevėžys. Play-off matches will be played at the Siemens Arena in Vilnius and the new Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas.
