Vilnius leads the world by Internet speed, Kaunas is the fourth
When it comes to Internet speed, no one questions Eastern Europe’s domination in this regard. The Net Index show that half of the top ten cities with the highest data download speeds belong to Eastern Europe.
Average download speed in the world is 9.43 megabits per second (Mbps), to compare with 31.52 Mbps in Lithuania, which is recognized as the country offering the highest Internet speed.
For your information: the EU average download speed is 12.99 Mbps, and 12.12 Mbps in the USA.
The Net Index provides a list of cities with the highest data download speeds. The data has been collected from millions of users worldwide, measuring Internet connection speed. The survey involved all cities with at least 75,000 unique IP addresses, reads businessinsider.com
