On Sunday, Raimundas Labuckas and Tomas Gadeikis of Lithuania won the gold medal in men's C2 200 meters race of the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Szeged, Hungary, and became world champions for the third time in a row.

Dr. Leonidas Donskis recognised in the United Kingdom
The University of Bradford (UK) has awarded an honorary degree to Dr Leonidas Donskis, Lithuanian Member of the European Parliament. Playright Ivaškevičius resides in the London Royal Court Theatre
In July, playwright Marius Ivaškevičius is taking part in the International Residency at the Royal Court Theatre. This theatre, located in London, is exceptionally famous for promoting contemporary drama. The playwright presents his most recent play ‘Išvarymas‘ (‘Banishment‘) about the life of Lithuanian emigrants.
