Eurostat: Lithuanian industry among the fastest growing
Lithuanian industry remains among the the fastest growing EU states.
Eurostat data, published on Friday, show that the Lithuanian industry was 10.3% up on the same period last year. However, it came down to Estonia (23.7%) and Latvia (15.2 %) in terms of growth.
In June, compared with May, the industry in Lithuania grew by 3.7%, which placed Lithuania second across the EU, just behind its neighboring Latvia (4.1%). Estonia's increase over the same period was but 1.5%.
The largest decrease of industrial production over the year was observed in Greece, Great Britain and Denmark - 13.2%, 5.3% and 3.3% respectively.
The overall EU growth was 1.7%, euro area - 2.9%. The decrease registered over the month – 1.2% and 0.7%
