Lithuania Opens a Representation in the Silicon Valley
On Monday, Lithuania opens a representation in the Silicon Valley, the world’s most famous new technology area in Northern California which is home to hundreds of USA and other countries’ technology companies.
The public agency Investuok Lietuvoje (Invest in Lithuania) has announced that the representation will hold presentations about Lithuania for businessmen of the Silicon Valley and other USA regions and will promote an image of Lithuania as a country favouring investment.
“Lithuanian companies seeking to attract capital from the United States may approach the public agency Investuok Lietuvoje which will help them establish contact with our representatives in the Silicon Valley. Through them, the Lithuanian business will have access to US investors, venture capital funds and other financing sources”, said the minister of economy Rimantas Žylius in his press release.
As part of the implementation of this project, on Monday Investuok Lietuvoje signed a cooperation agreement with its partner, US strategic consulting firm Noah Mamet & Associates. Los Angeles-based firm will provide diverse information on Lithuania to potential investors, introduce Lithuania during events as well as organise advertising campaigns.
“Our goal is to have as many US companies as possible to include Lithuania among those countries which are promising in terms of the expansion of business activities or undertaking new activities. In particular, we consider it relevant that progressive technology companies take an interest in Lithuania, and it is in the Silicon Valley that many of such companies operate”, maintained general manager of Investuok Lietuvoje Mr Mantas Nocius.
Investuok Lietuvoje also notes that Silicon Valley-based companies do invest in Lithuania. Levanta Scientific, a Silicon Valley-based US industrial engineering and manufacturing company, announced in October that it will invest LTL 16 million into a research facility in the Saulėtekis Valley in Vilnius.
