Vaiva Zvirblyte from Lithuania became the youngest Mayor in Taiwan

Dalin town in Chiayi county had the youngest foreign mayor in Taiwan, 23 year old Lithuanian student Vaiva Zvirblyte. She came to Taiwan to participate in 100th anniversary event for foreign youth. As a mayor for one day, she not only signed the documents, but also met with the leader of Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party Tsai Ing-wen.

The newly assigned beautiful mayor, who was wearing a red ribbon over her shoulder with the words “Today I’m the Coolest/Mayor” (Chinese world play), signed actual documents. 23-year-old Vaiva has just graduated from Sichuan Jiaotong University and is teaching English in Shanghai at the moment. She came to Taiwan to participate in the 100th celebration of establishing of Taiwan and ended up in Dalin, Chiayi.

The employees of the city office all eagerly participated in this game. “Mayor” signed the documents, met with party members and at the end met with Tsai Ing-wen. When it was time to leave, Wei Wa was seen out at the door by all the employees of the city office. They expressed hopes that Dalin in Chiayi will leave her a deep impression.
