Vilnius Airport demonstrates the highest growth in Europe
The Airports Council International (ACI Europe) has published the information that Vilnius International Airport leads the list of 170 European airports by passenger flows in October.
Vilnius International Airport has been lining up among the leaders for the third month in a row: 5th position in August and 4th – in September.
"We can safely say that October has been the most successful month with the highest 53.7 per cent passenger growth recorded in the airport's history. Our November performance was just 1 per cent less, so during the three autumn months we have achieved an average 48.2 per cent passenger growth, "– says Tomas Vaišvila, CEO of VIA.
According to ACI Europe, the list of most rapidly growing airports includes also Bourgas Airport in Bulgaria (with passenger growth rate of 49.7 %), Tallinn Airport in Estonia (37%), Venice Airport in Italy (33.7%) and Tirana Airport in Albania (29.2 %). The total European airport growth in October was about 3.4% up on the same period in 2010.
ACI Europe represents interests of airports in 46 different European countries, and members of the Council make up 90% of European airports market. Vilnius International Airport joined the ACI Europe in 1992. VIA experts and professionals are closely involved in the activities of ACI committees of aviation security, economic, airfield maintenance, and others.
